The midwives listed below are licensed in Hawaii and comprise the MAH Registry. The benefits of receiving care from a MAH Registry midwife are their provision of midwifery care according to National Standards, their participation in professional peer review and their ability to file your child’s birth certificate from the bedside. 

There are licensed midwives providing community birth services on all main islands who choose not to participate in the MAH Registry. We do not provide recommendations for midwives who are not on the MAH Registry. Under Hawaii law any person practicing midwifery is required to be licensed. If you are looking for hospital based midwifery services, there are certified nurse-midwives (CNMs), who are licensed as advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs), at Kaiser Permanente on Oahu, Maui and Hawaii Island; Tripler Army Medical Center on Oahu; Malama I Ke Ola Health Center/ Maui Memorial on Maui; and Queens Health System on Molokai and Hawaii Island (North Hawaii Community Hospital). There are CNMs working at the federally qualified health centers on Oahu and Hawaii Island and in private practice on Kauai who do not attend deliveries.
